Donald Ames
Carlton was a World War I veteran, Second Light Field Artillery, entering the service in 1917.
Carlton & Lillian moved to Manitowoc, Wisconson in 1934. He was the service manager for Bouril Auto Co. in Manitowoc.
In 1946, he owned and operated Ames Motor Co. in Manitowoc until 1961 when he retired.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald & Dorothy Ames, of Manitowoc. A brother, Harold Ames of Palm Springs, CA,; 2 sisters, Phila (Ames) Baerman and husband, F.J. Baerman of Waukegan and Dimis (Ames) Ehninger and husband, J.F. Ehninger, of Donners Grove, IL.; and 2 grand-daughters, Mrs Cynthia Ihlenfeld of Madison, IL and Nancy of the home.
Preceeded in death by a brother, Howard Ames and an infant grandson.
There will be no visitation and the casket will remain closed. Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc, First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc or The Salvation Army.
Private family services will be at 1:30pm at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The Rev. William Schultz will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
