❤ WORLD WAR II ARMY AIR CORP.

My uncle Tommy was the second of six children born to Thomas and Jane Sharples Duckworth. There were three sons and three daughters altogether.

When Tommy was little, he would love it when his mother would hug or hold him, because he said that she felt so soft.
My uncle was tall, handsome and soft spoken with a wicked sense of humor.

He was a veteran of World War II, and served in the Army Air Corp.

Uncle Tommy met and fell in love with bubbly and outgoing Maryland Teubner; They were married AUGUST 29th. They had one son, Thomas Gary.

Uncle Tommy and Gary ( his son ) loved to go camping and fishing. They both had a great affection for dogs.

As I said, Uncle Tommy had a wicked sense of humor, and he loved to tease those he loved. He used to tell me, that I should eat my tomatoes, because they would put hair on my chest ! Later on, when he had to wear hearing aids, and my Aunt Maryland was chatting away to someone, thinking that my uncle had them turned off, he leaned over to me saying, "she thinks I can't hear her...." Then of course he would shut them off at other more "convenient" times.

Everyone in the family loved Uncle Tommy. He was so dear. My mom ( his baby sister) absolutely adored him.

Uncle Tommy's yard was a source of pride and joy to him. Everything was always clipped and mowed, and spotless.

My Aunt Maryland and Uncle Tommy were at times surrogate parents for me. Uncle Tommy and I were like father and daughter. The last time he called me, his first words were "How's my little girl?"

My Uncle

I came into this life
You held me in your arms
You kept me safe
So no one could harm

You taught me values
Lessons in life I would learn
You taught me to respect
I gave you love in return

You have always been in my life
Through thick and thin
And now my lonely journey
Without you will begin

For you were my hero
Forever and a day
You will always remain that hero
Till I meet you again some day

I will embrace you in my arms
And hold on tight
I will stand by your side
And you will never leave my sight

I miss you so much
The pain does not ease
I pray you are happy
And finally at peace

~Nikkii Fahy
