💖 Dooney was a all grey cat I got seven years ago. At the time he was eight years old. My neighbor was going into a nursing home and did not want to put Dooney in a animal shelter. Her son told her to find the cat a home or he would set the cat free to fend for himself. I was outraged this was a declawed pampered house cat. I had volunteered at a animal shelter at the time and I know the older cats and dogs rarely get adopted. People want kittens and younger cats for pets. My neighbor was so upset and didn't know what to do. She couldn't drive anymore and there was no one to help her find a good home for Dooney. I had one very pampered spoiled cat Dusty and I wondered if I could make it work with two male cats. I asked Margaret how about I give Dooney a forever home with me. She cried and said she had hoped I would take him she knew I would love and take care of him. I asked her about his name she said he was named for the Dooney and Burke handbags she loved. After Margaret went into the nursing home I would visit her once a week. I would bring her pictures of Dooney and some with Dusty sleeping together, eating together, and playing. This cheered her up. Dooney never did became a lap cat I knew he missed Margaret. He would look out the window over at his house he had lived in before. Dooney was Dooney you could pet him but when enough was enough he let you know. Some of Doonbugs favorite things to do was sitting in the sun, watching birds, and being on the screened in porch napping. Dooneys favorite food was Fancy Feast especially Seafood Feast in Gravy. His favorite treats were Temptations Chicken and Turkey. I know Margaret met Dooney at the Rainbow Bridge. And now they are together forever. I Love You Dooney you will be missed. The vet determined Dooney passed away from old age.
