💗 Dusty was a kitten that was found roaming the streets in Hagerstown, Maryland. Someone found him and brought him into the Washington County Humane Society. He was named Jakey. Butch and Diana Eyler fell in love with the little guy. And gave him a forever home. But his new Mom Diana said he looks more like a Dusty then a Jakey and that's how Dusty got his name. Dusty was the smartest cat I ever had. He knew the word treat, go out, ( on the screened in porch ) nappy nap for nap, and bedtime was bed time. He also was a cat with attitude. If he was on the back of the recliner you might get slapped with a paw as you walked by. We had this game called butt, butt and he would flop over and you patted his butt while saying butt, butt, butt he would meow and you continued the game. He did this funny cute thing like dogs do. Dusty would roll all over the floor when you would say what that baby doing. Dusty was a talker. When you talked to him he would meow back as if he knew what you were saying. When he was little everyone swore he was saying Momma. He grew out of that. Dusty liked it when you gently rubbed his ears. One day Dusty started sneezing blood and I took him to the vets. Dr. Daniel's said it was either a sinus infection or cancer. Dusty was given a antibiotic sadly it did not work. And on July 5th at 6:30 a.m. Dusty started to drip blood from his nose. At 9:00 a.m. when the vets opened I called to tell them Dusty had been dripping blood from his nose that morning. They told me to bring him in right away. Dr. Daniel's said it was cancer and he was to old to go through any type of treatments for cancer. She said he probably wouldn't survive anyway. That the kindest thing to do was put him to sleep. She explained to me that he would bleed to death. And it would be like a waterfall of blood pouring from his nose. It was very painful for the cat and something I would not want to see. At 10:50 a.m. Dusty went to The Rainbow Bridge I was by his side. When Dr. Daniel's removed the needle from Dusty's paw blood poured out of his nose. Dr. Daniel's said he had given Dusty a week but after seeing the blood she said he probably would not have made it that night. I knew I had did the right thing I did not want my baby to suffer.
