Funeral services were conducted at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ireton at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, January 3, for Roy Abbey, 77, of Hawarden, who died January 1 at the Hawarden hospital.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Dewight Rengstorf and burial was in Grace Hill cemetery at Hawarden.
Mr. Abbey was born near Hawarden August 28, 1898. He married Helen Boisen February 25, 1932, at Sioux Falls. The couple farmed in the Ireton area, and retired to Hawarden in 1970.
Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Wm. (Lois) Jacobs of Allison, Mrs. Mardis (Janet) Jans of Onawa, and Mrs. John (Janice) Vander Feen of Ireton; one brother, Lewis, of Hawarden; and seven grandchildren.
