Son of Moses and Eliza Anderson. Henry married (1) Caladona Graham, and (2) Mary Martha Horton.

"Henry enlisted in Company D, 12th SC Cavalry Battalion on October 6, 1862 at Camp Marion, Georgetown, age 24. Present October 31, 1862. No further record, apparently discharged. He reenlisted on May 11, 1863 in Company A, Hampton Legion Infantry. He was hospitalized in July 1863 and discharged for disability (circulatory disease) on October 20, 1863. He reenlisted before discharge on October 5, 1863 in Company B, Tuckers Cavalry Squadron at Georgetown. Present October - December 1863; detailed at Georgetown January - February 1864.

Transferred to Company D, 19th SC Cavalry Battalion on March 11, 1864; sick and in the hospital July through September 9, 1864. He was on sick furlough September 9 - November 9, 1864. Present November 9 - December 1864."
