Hazel Leora Malone, 81, died in her sleep on 20 Aug 2017, at Gramercy Court Nursing Home, in Sacramento, CA. She was born on 29 Oct 1935 in Modesto, CA, the daughter of Laurence L and Georgia Grace (Augustine) Jones. She is survived by her children, Milton Malone, Kimberley Small (Philip), Lucile Malone, and Carolyn Tindell (Danny). She is also survived by her sister- in- law Tena Heckendorf, and other extended family members. Hazel love her grandchildren, Mylie Strickland (Heath), Jennifer Kinney (Andrew), Kayla Ekelund (Alex), Sarah Kay, Phoenix Small, and Stephen Tindell. Hazel also adored her 3 great grandchildren, James Strickland, Brandon and Casey Kinney. Hazel loved to traveled with her family to places like Nevada, Texas, California, Okinawa, especially loved San Francisco, her favorite place was "Frantown" as she had a fondness for anything Oriental, Asian, from the foods, arts, and collections. During her travels with her family she volunteered with Family Services, which she won many awards for her service. She worked for AAFES from Feb 1969 to July 1998. After retirement from AAFES, she worked at ADP Payroll for a few years. Hazel was predeceased by her parents and siblings Walter Heckendorf, Charles (wife Barbara (Freyer) Heckendorf). Relatives & friends are welcome to come btwn 1-5 pm, Saturday, 7 Oct 2017 at Hagan Community Park, 2197 Chase Dr, Sacramento, CA to Celebrate the Life of Hazel. The family ask that you come and share a favorite story or memory of Hazel and enjoy refreshments. Those who wish to remember Hazel in a special way, may make gifts in her memory to your local schools, as Hazel loved to donate every year with school supplies for the classrooms of her local schools, as well as, her grandchildren schools.
