James Hicks Buchanan, RR 1, St. Francisville, IL, died Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at the Bridge Pointe Healthcare in Vincennes, IN.

He was 84. Born in St. Francisville, IL, on August 3, 1920, he was the son of Charles Knight Buchanan and Etta Taylor Buchanan. He married Geneva Ione Ony Donavan on August 10, 1940, and she survives.

He was a retired plumber, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville.

Survivors include his wife of St. Francisville; five children and their spouses, Mary Ann and Harvey Ricker of St. Francisville, Martha Jane and Hugh Buehler of Warsaw, IN, Becky and Larry Ice of Lawrenceville, Charles and Nancy Buchanan of Flora, and James and Vicki Buchanan of Cary, NC; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Evelyn Jordan of Glendale Heights, IL.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 14, 2005, at Smith Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL.

Burial was in Buchanan Cemetery, south of Lawrenceville. Memorials may be made to Parkinson Disease Foundation through the Smith Funeral Home.
