Craig and Barbara Chafee mourn the loss of their beloved son Dillon J. Chafee who passed away on Monday October 8, 2012.

He was born on September 11, 1991 in New Hartford, NY a son of Craig and Barbara (Howard) Chafee. Dillon was a 2009 graduate of Mount Markham High School. He also attended Mohawk Valley Community College.

Dillon was employed with HD Supply in Utica where he worked with his dad.

Dillon loved baseball and was an avid Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed Go Kart racing and was the recipient of many awards and trophies.

He is survived by his parents Craig and Barbara Chafee of West Winfield, his brother Todd Chafee of North Carolina, his maternal grandmother Julia Howard of Sauquoit and his paternal grandparents, Jean Chafee and Jerry Christian of West Winfield and Noel "Gordon" Chafee and Lovena Chafee also of West Winfield. He also leaves his Aunts and uncles, Dona and Mike Smith of Colorado, Linda and Nick Pontero of Bridgewater, Mike Howard of Clayville, Doug and Karen Howard of Delaware, Chuck and Annette Chafee of New Hartford and a great aunt and uncle Helen and Michael Monette of West Winfield, he leaves his cousins, Jamie and her Husband Brandon, Jason, Kristin, Kristopher, Nicole, Michael, Samantha, Tyler, Tina, Amanda, Chad, Melissa and Megan, also his best friends James Betts and Christian Coy. The family also wishes to acknowledge their extended family Carla and Scott, Ingrid and Dave, Karine and Mike, Jamie and Carol and Jerry Jr... He was predeceased by an Aunt Claudia Chafee.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Main St. in West Winfield where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Winfield at the convenience of the family. There are no public calling hours, the family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the Funeral Mass in the Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers please consider contributions to the Dillon J. Chafee Memorial Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Mass.
