Edward Banks was the father of Reverend Thomas Hardy Banks, who in turn was the father of Edward Francis Banks, killed in France in WWI. The latter young man was the first family file I received on this thread of Banks, and while I have had a great deal of difficulty tracking the family members, finding the majority after 1915 or so, the their story is slowly coming into focus, and below is what I have verified about Edward through UK census reports and other sources.

Edward Banks was born in 1827; his birthplace is noted specifically to be St. Gluvius. Knowing that St. Gluvius is technically a parish/settlement, I do not know whether he was baptized at the church itself, whether Edward's father had church connections - Edward's brother does have the uncommon middle name of 'Church', or what...if I am misunderstanding these notations, please feel free to let me know so that I can correct this page - Thank You!

Edward is noted in the 1861 UK census as working as a linen draper; his wife Anne has been found, as well as the three sons noted: Thomas Hardy, William and Edward Church. I am looking for more children in various paperwork sources.

As noted with his wife Anne's memorial page, I do not know what 'became of' Edward Banks; I have found no proof of burial, location and dates of death, etc. I will continue to research this matter, however and update this page asap.
