UPDATE NOVEMBER 2016:

The following information regarding Edward has been found in the Census:

Birth:
Edward Church Banks
District: Falmouth ... County: Cornwall ... Year: 1859 ...
Quarter: 2 ... Volume: 5c ... Page: 230

Death
Edward Church Banks
District: Falmouth ... County: Cornwall ... Year: 1861 ...
Quarter: 4 ... Volume: 5c ... Page: 0132 ...

Edward Church Banks, approximately age 2, is listed in the UK death registration files of 1861 as having died at Cornwall. He was the son Edward and Anne Banks, and the brother of Thomas Hardy and William...there may be other siblings to add to this information, but I am still verifying the notes and information.

Edward's father, Edward Sr. is listed in the 1871 census as having advanced from his original employment title of 'draper' to 'Employer of 7 females and 2 males, linen', and the family seems to have remained in the local area after Edward Church's passing.

I will continue to research this child and add more details asap.
