Emmett "Mike" Michael Abernathy, 70, of Hokes Bluff, Alabama, died on December 12, 2016 at his home. He was a member of East Gadsden Baptist church. He graduated from Gadsden High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Mary Abernathy. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, son, three grandchildren, two sisters, brother and several nieces and nephews. Funeral: 2:00 p.m. December 16, 2016 at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home.
