Mr. W.N. Carson, of Greenville, formerly of Morristown, dies of cholera, at the residence of his father-in-law, S.L. Huffmaster, Esq., in this place, on Friday night last. Mr. Carson was attacked with premonitory symptoms of cholera on the Friday preceding his death, but being in charge of the Depot and Express office at Greenville, he kept up and continued business until the following Wednesday evening, when he came to this place on the night train, and was immediately prostrated by the fatal disease which soon produced his death. It is the opinion of the physicians who waited on Mr. C.., that he called in medical aid when first threatened, and quit work, the disease might have been arrested and his life, perhaps saved. (Morristown Gazette July 16, 1873)
