I, J. Wathen, manager of this memorial, am Margaret's 1st cousin, 3x removed. Her aunt, Lucina Amy (Daugherty) Magers, is my 2nd great-grandmother.

Margaret (Daugherty) McClane, 93, Holton, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at the Onaga Hospital.

She was born Aug. 30, 1905 at Mayetta, the daughter of Dawson and Ora Levengood Daugherty.

Mrs. McClane had lived most of her life in the Mayetta and Holton areas. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church in Holton.

She was married to Clarence McClane Dec. 30, 1921 in Topeka. He died Aug. 9, 1982.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Galen Thomas McClane and Dawson Eugene McClane; and one sister, Helen Daugherty Niles.

Survivors include two nieces, Opal Tibbs and Hope Chrisman, both of Topeka; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at Holton Cemetery. She will lie in state at Mercer Funeral Home from Monday afternoon through Wednesday.
