Richard Dean Campbell, son of Arthur and Kathryn (Gartin) Campbell, was born July 16, 1934 on a farm north of Cambria and passed away on October 25, 2000 at the Wayne County Hospital at the age of 66 years.
Dick was united in marriage to Norma Lee Blevins on October 31, 1956 and they were the parents of four children, three boys and a girl.
Dick was a lifelong resident of Wayne County. Since 1962 he lived on a farm east of Corydon and worked as a manager and a truck driver for Ferrellgas until his illness. He enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, children, and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Campbell, Corydon; children: Dennis and wife Belinda, Promise City; David, Des Moines and Corydon; Don and wife Kim, Mingo and Darla, Des Moines; grandchildren: Cody, Brandon and Katelyn; sister Mildred Swanson, Des Moines; and brothers: Carl Campbell, LaPlata, Missouri; and Frank Campbell, Humeston.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 28, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. at the Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon with Pastor Dean Meyer officiating. Musical selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art."
Pallbearers were Dennis Campbell, Don Campbell, Junior Taylor, David Campbell, Jeff Boyce, and Marvin Duckworth.
Interment was in the Corydon Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Wayne County Hospital and may be left at the funeral home.
