Brooke enjoyed growing up on the King Ranch, where her daddy, Beau Hester, works. She was wise beyond her years, a gifted artist, she loved to paint, sing and dance and she had a special place in her heart for animals. Brooke was a very gifted child who enjoyed learning about everything and especially loved being outdoors picking wildflowers and exploring nature. Her favorite place to be was surrounded by her family. She took great pride in being big sister to her brother Benjamin and was thrilled at the announcement of another baby girl on the way, Julianna, whom Brooke had the privilege of naming.
Brooke never met a stranger and her presence and personality lit up a room. She graced us with her voice by singing at sporting events, and has even shared the stage with some big names. Her adventures have taken her across the country and she inspired many. She always smiled through it all and held fast to her desire to spread compassionate hope in the midst of darkness. Her joyous smile was contagious and her faith was evident.
BROOKE HAS MANY LOVING CLOSE FAMILY MEMBERS AND DEAR FRIENDS THAT ARE COMMITTED TO CONTINUING HER LEGACY OF SPREADING FAITH, LOVE AND HOPE WORLDWIDE.
Brooke was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma on November 18, 2010 at the age of 3 ½. Her 4 ½ year battle with cancer led her to found Brooke’s Blossoming Hope for Childhood Cancer Foundation, which not only makes and distributes blossoming headbands and sweatbands to thousands of boys and girls fighting cancer in 40 countries worldwide, but they also help fund cutting edge research that is making huge strides in childhood cancer treatments. Brooke was truly an amazing little girl.
