This memorial is dedicated to my third great grandmother Jerusha Ruthie Jemcia Moseley. She was born to John Turner and Elizabeth Lefoy Moseley
about 1815 in St Stephen, Washington County, Alabama and she left this world on an unknown date possibly in Conway County Arkansas.
She was the sister of Robert, Milledge O., Nancy, Sally, John Womack, Millie, Flood and Daniel Coleman Moseley
Jerusha married Martin Crane on October 03, 1832 in Washington County, Arkansas.
She was the mother of Sarah E., Lewis A., Erasmus, Emelia, Daniel R. Shortly after the marriage of her daughter Sarah to James Duncan Coker, both families, including James's parents, packed up thier belongings and moved to Conway County, Arkansas arriving before the birth of her grandson James Jr. in December 13, 1852. Around 1854 her granddaughter Mary was born.

Sometime in 1854 Jerusha's son in law passed away and a big custody battle for the two children between her daughter Sarah and the Cokers
Unfortunately her daughter Sarah lost custody of her children.

There are court papers in the Conway County, Arkansas court house that after the death of his son James, Seaborn went to court to maintain custody of his two grandchildren James Jr and Mary. At one time there was a hearing for the return of Mary from Martin and Jerusha.

I have not been able to find her in any census after 1860.
