William H. Adams Dies This Morning
William H. Adams, long time resident of Northern Michigan, died this morning at the home of his son, Will Adams, on Madison street, at 76 years of age.
Mr. Adams was particularly well known for his ability as a fancy skater. Using old-fashioned skates, the popular old gentleman was one of the familiar figures at the skating rinks each winter.
Funeral services will be held from the Stone Funeral Home at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon with the Rev. G. A. Weaver in Charge.
Mr. Adams was born in Belleville, Ont., October 6, 1860 and was married to Miss Alice Mercer at Paris, Ont., October 6, 1884. They came to Petoskey in 1896. For many years he lived on his farm on the shore of Walloon Lake in Resort township.
In addition to Mrs. Adams and their son, a brother and two sisters survive. They are John Adams, of Windsor, and Mrs Laura Capron, of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Lillian Ridley, of Detroit. There are two grandchildren.

There are conflicting reports of William's birth date and location. Family records show him born 6 Oct 1858 in Portsmouth, Rockingham Co, NH just before his family moved to Ontario.
