We adopted Duffy from a rescue organization in Northeast Philly when she was nine weeks old. At the age of 3 weeks, she had been left in a sack on top of a stack of trash in a vacant lot. Had a passerby not heard her crying, heaven knows what would have happened
Our happy, always smiling Duffy Doodles, who would have been seventeen years old in October, had started going downhill in the last year, year and a half.
The last couple of months saw her quality of life decline at an alarming rate.
As much as it broke our hearts, we felt it wouldn't be fair to her to have her continue like that - especially in light of what she had been. This was a dog who was still lively -- she remained a puppy at heart -- up to the age of fourteen.
She gave us nearly seventeen years - all of them wonderful and full of love and laughter.
Now, she is with Peaches (1990-2004), Piewacket (1975-1994) and her best friend, Bonzo (1990-2005) again.
We will miss her terribly. She was one of a kind!
