Jesse Block performed in vaudeville as a child as a member of Gus Edwards' Song Revue of 1915. He then toured for four years in a song and dance act known as "Block and Dunlap." In 1926 he was introduced to Eve Sully by Bert "The Mad Russian" Gordon. The two formed a crosstalk comedy act and married in 1930.

They played the Palace Theater in 1929 and became major headliners in vaudeville.

In the early 1930s they had their own radio program, and one of the cast members was Arlene Francis. They appeared in film shorts and appeared in "Kid Millions"(1934) with Eddie Cantor. In 1948 they played their last vaudeville show.

In later years, Block was a stockbroker with Bache & COmpnay, retiring in 1973.
