Civil War: Company G, 113th Ohio infantry

Harrison Zachary Adams was born in Virginia on Christmas Eve 1807. He married Elizabeth H. Chambers in 1848. He was 54 years old when he accepted a commission to captain August 13, 1862. He was mustered in as commander of Company G, 113th Ohio Infantry, October 18, 1862. Captain Adams resigned his commission due to disability January 25, 1863. After leaving military service he eventually settled at Santa Ana, California, where he was a member of Sedgwick Post, No. 17, G.A.R., at Santa Ana. He filed for a Civil War veteran disability pension October 28, 1884, and received certificate No. 306,247. Shortly after his death Elizabeth filed for a Civil War widow's pension at Santa Ana April 3, 1891, and received certificate No. 317,508. In addition to the four children linked here, he had two additional daughters:
- Margaret Eugenia (Nov 14, 1852)
- Lillie Antoinette (Nov. 11, 1855)
One of them married a Jamison or Jameson and lived in California.
