She was born in Carthage on April 27, 1997, the daughter of Scott L. and Tara L. Hosler Benson.
She was a 7th grade honor roll student at Carthage Middle School and participated in Chorus and Band, where she played the flute. She competed in Volleyball and Track, having just established a new middle school record in the high jump. She was a cheerleader with the Carthage Bears.
She is survived by her parents, Scott and Tara Benson of Carthage; her sister, Courtney A. Benson, Carthage; paternal grandparents, Vern and Cathy Benson of Carthage; maternal grandmother, Wendy Hosler of Port Leyden; maternal grandfather and his wife, David and Tracey Hosler of Elkhart, IN; paternal great-grandmother, Carrie Huston of Carthage; maternal great-grandfather, Robert F. Hosler of Elkhart, IN; maternal great-grandmother, Margaret Nye of Martinsburg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00 Noon at the Carthage United Methodist Church with the Revs. Linda J. Harris and Frances Hemstreet officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. Calling hours at Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home will be on Thursday from 2-7 p.m.
