Betty Allen passed away at her home in Jamestown from a long illness. She had lived in Tuolumne County most of her life, marrying young and raising her family. She was a beautician and bookkeeper and a devote wife and mother. She had been active with the Columbia Elementary School PTA and enjoyed cooking and hosting family get-togethers. She raised her family in the Rawhide-Jeffersonville area.

Betty was a bookkeeper for 25 years for her former husband's logging business. For 11 years she owned and operated her own salon, Betty's Beauty Studio, in Sonora.

Betty and her husband, Russell Allen, traveled throughout the 11 western states and spent eight winters in a St. George, Utah, trailer park where she volunteered teaching arts and crafts and doing bookkeeping for the park's office.

She was born to William Norsworthy and Lavaun Ruth Lashmet Norsworthy and had an older sister, June Elizabeth, whose married name was Wallace. The family lived in Long Beach and San Antonio, Los Angeles County, California.
