Born on the Trail of Tears from the Cherokee Nation, Tennessee to the indian territory.

The son of Moses Sr and Mahala [Cadle] Fields.

Grandson of Chief Richard Fields Jr. and Jennie Buffington.

Husband of Caroline Belvedere Phillips whom he married on December 8, 1872.

Father of Susan, Magena, Myrtle, Priscilla, Cora, Thomas and Cyrus.

Samuel Igo Fields is my great grandfather.

We are informed of the death of Sam Fields, who has been a resident of Oklahoma beyond Maysville for many years, and perhaps the best known citizen of that section, and a well-to-do farmer. Death came unexpectedly Sunday night and is attributed to heart failure.
