Mrs. Mary Ruth Burnette Thayer, age 79, of Lithia Springs, GA passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007. She was born July 27, 1927 in Camp Hill, AL daughter of the late Daniel Hicks Burnette and Viola Estelle Banks Burnette . She was also preceded in death by her husband Marcus Carl Thayer Jr.; sisters, Maude Chapman and Janette Moore; and brother Daniel Hicks Burnette Jr.. Mrs. Thayer was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as an accountant. She was a member of Atlanta First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Marcus C. and Karen Thayer, III of Marietta, GA, Rex and Gail Thayer of Grayson, GA; daughter Renee and Bob Wrixon of Rockleigh, NJ; grandchildren, Marcy Thayer, Justin Thayer, Dr. Dana Levy, Elizabeth Levy, Louis Levy, Blake Wrixon, Dale Wrixon, Emily Thayer, Luke Thayer; great-granddaughter Elizabeth Thayer, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 28, 2007 from 5:30-8:30 PM. The funeral service will be Friday, June 29, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. Neil Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA.
