Paul M. Evans was an aerospace worker at Parker-Bertea and was sponsored by his company to take part in the 1984 Olympic torch relay. Although confined to a wheelchair all his life due to spina bifida, he never let his handicap prevent him from living life to the fullest. He graduated in 1972 from Lennox High School. He called Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California his "second home" and attended most of the California Angels home games. In 1979, while entering the stadium, he met former President Richard Nixon.
He was also an avid coin collector and photographer. He enjoyed traveling around the state of California with friends by car (he never could be talked into taking an airplane flight). When Ronald Reagan won the 1980 Presidential election, he attended the victory celebration at the Century Plaza Hotel.
In 1982, he witnessed the landing of space shuttle Columbia at Edwards Air Force Base.
Paul (he preferred to be called by his middle name Mike) was also a devoted uncle to his niece and nephew, Jeremy and Shannah. Besides his niece and nephew, he is survived by his mother Jenny, step-father Joe, brother John and many friends.
