Armand served as a M.P. in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received his Honorable Discharge in 1952. He married Mary Charleston in January, 1953. He worked as an automobile engine rebuilder for Engine Rebuilding Corp. and as an aerospace assembler for Hughes Aircraft Co.

Armand was also an avid bowler and loved to travel. He enjoyed reunions with his fellow members of his army division.

He is survived by his wife Mary, son Armand Merle and granddaughter Amber. He is also survived by three sisters, one brother and many nieces and nephews.
