Son of William G. and Susan C. Dunn. Joseph was one of the enterprising business men of Columbus, a public sported man who won great success in life, known for his kindness and his devotion to family and friends. In 1859 his father moved the family to Columbus and started a dry goods businees in a building on the site of the 1st National Bank. Dunn was connected with the business at that time, in 1875 he was taken into partnership by his father and the firm moved to a room occupied by Krauss, Butler & Benhan, in 1886 another moved. Joseph was married twice, his 1st wife Mary Stler of Geneva, N.Y. whom he married in 1874, died in 1879. In 1881 he married Miss Young, daughter of Colonel W.H. Young. Joseph Dunn;s mother was living at the time of his death at 638 Town Street. Dunn had surviving daughter Mrs. Percy Waddell of Columbus, daughter by his first wife and other children Warren C., Martha and Dorothy. Dunn died of "Typhoid Fever" and the undertaker was "R.E. Jones". His interment No. 34296
