Charles C. Benbow, 74, was for 35 years secretary-treasuer of the Midland Grocery Co., since its organization in 1901. Benbow celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of his association with the Monypeny-Hammond Co., a branch, he began as a bookkeeper for the organization. He was a charter member of the Columbus County club and a member of Goodale lodge, F. & A. M. His home was located at 1735 Franklin Avenue. He was survived by his widow, Jessie Benbow, daughter Ruth B. Crawford, son Carl H. and a sister Mrs. James Sheppard.
