Actor. Born John Kevin Barry Coughlin, his parents and sister would soon move to Rye, New York. He appeared on stage in the Frogs of Spring, Life with Mother, The King and I and the Square Root of Wonderful. His TV credits are vast. He appeared in episodes of Bonanza, Dragnet, The Virginian, Gunsmoke, The FBI, Combat, The Patty Duke Show and Lassie just to name a few. His movie credits include The Gay Deceivers, The Defiant Ones, Happy Anniversary, Duel at Diablo, Maryjane, Wild in the Streets and the Young Runaways. On January 10, 1976 he parked his car near the intersection of Ventura Blvd and Whitsett Avenue to attend a party. At about 1:30 am, while his wife Marcia waited in the car, he was cleaning his windshield when he was struck by a speeding car and hurled 63 feet into a parking lot. He had broken legs and hip. He lived for 10 days and died from complications of Bronchopneumonia.
