His best seasons were 1987 where he went 11-4 and 1989, when he went 11-11 in 31 starts while posting a 3.07 ERA. helping Toronto to an AL East title. In 1990 his ERA rose to 4.76, and he was thus granted Free Agency by the Jays on December 20th, 1990. Signed by the Detroit Tigers on January 14th, 1991, he played one last season in the Majors going 3-6. He was granted his free agency by Detroit after the season, ending his 7 year big league career.
