Arno (Blackie) Henshaw, 97, died Tuesday October 16, 2012. He was born in Connoquenessing, PA, on Jul 23, 1915 to Blanche and Clarence Henshaw.

His family later moved to Tulsa, OK where he was raised and graduated High School. He attended Oklahoma A&M, in Stillwater and obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation he quickly went to work for Lucy Oil Company out of Oklahoma City. After working for Lucy for several years he went to work for Halliburton in Duncan, starting in 1940 in the truck shop as a mechanic. In 1947 he moved into the Sales Department as a Sales Engineer. Then in 1951 he returned to the Truck shop in Duncan, and in 1959 was made an Inspector. In 1961 Blackie went overseas to Iran to help set up a camp in Aga Jara, Iran. Upon his return he was made Line Foreman in the Inspection Department in Duncan. Over the next several years he did special blowout assignments in both the North Sea fields and Australia. He continued to work out of Duncan until he retired in 1977, 37 years with Halliburton. Upon his retirement he traveled both abroad and in his 5th wheel around the states.

Blackie was a 60 year Mason, 32 Degree, out of the Comanche Branch of the organization.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dorothy (Flynn) Henshaw.

He is survived by a son, Dale Henshaw and his wife Jeanette, of Denton, TX; two daughters, Arneta Kelly and her husband Don, of Duncan, and Arveta Dowdy and her husband Kent, of Summerfield, NC; a step-son Walter (Zeke) Zewick and his wife Marty, of Edom, TX; a step-daughter Francis White of Missouri; 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren.
