Delilah Elliot Hockett
Delilah Elliot was born November 15, 1885, at Muscoda, Grant Co., Wisconsin and died June 19, 1924,in Randall, Jewell Co., Kansas, aged 68 years, 7 months and 4 days. SHe came to Kansas in 1871 and located near Randall, where on June 14, 1875 she was married to Alvin Hockett. To this union three sons were born, W.E. of Beloit, M.A. of Randall and B.H. of Kansas City, Missouri.
She lived on the farm, four miles south of Randall, until 1909, then moved to Randall.
She united with the Springfield Class of the United Brethren Church in 1892 and continued her membership until her death.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Rasndall.
Funeral services were held in the M.E. Church, June 21 at 2 p.m., conducted by R.C. Libhart, Pastor of the Christian Church, The body was laid to rest in the Pleasant Prarie Cemetery.
In census records there different spellings of Delilah's name: Celia or Delia.
