Major League Baseball Player. He was an infielder for six seasons (1978 to 1980, 1982 to 1984) with the Philadelphia Phillies, Kansas City Royals, California Angels, Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles. He was a member of the 1983 World Champion Orioles team and appeared in 5 games during the World Series. He enjoyed his most successful season in 1982 with the Mariners, when he had 113 hits with 16 home runs. In 544 career regular season games, he had 336 hits with a .220 lifetime batting average. Cruz died suddenly while swimming.
