Philippine Insurrection Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Captain in the United States Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a First Lieutenant in the 27th U.S. Infantry for action on May 2, 1902 at Bayong, near Lake Lanao, Mindanao, Philippine Islands. His citation reads "Crossed a fire-swept field, in close-range of the enemy, and brought a wounded soldier to a place of shelter."
