Services for James Earl Campbell Sr., 83, of Tyler are scheduled for noon Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert L. Davis, eulogist, and the Rev. Cleran Gipson officiating. Mr. Campbell passed on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010. Burial will be in Kilgore Gardens under direction of Cunningham Funeral Home, Kilgore. Mr. Campbell was born April 11, 1927, in Tyler to the late Henry II and Bertha William Campbell.He retired from Trane in 1993. Survivors include children, Linda Boson (Morris) of San Antonio, James Campbell Jr. (Brenda) of Flint, Billy Campbell (Beverly) and Clothilda Stewart (Michael), all of Whitehouse, Maxine Davis (Rayford), Edward Campbell (Tina), Donnie Campbell (Marvel) and Benita Caddell (Vernon), all of Tyler; goddaughter, Keysla Square of Princeton; brother, Welton Campbell (Linda) of Dallas; sisters, Alma Campbell of Banning, Calif., Lee Vator Giddings of DeSoto, Emma Lou Murphy of Dallas; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Pallbearers will be Vasley Cain, Timothy Giddings, Welton Allen Campbell and Gaylen Campbell, Flauzell Murphy Jr., Andre Boson, Michael Wallace, Willie Hicks, Donelle Hicks, Booker T. Warren and Houston Johnson.Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Corinth Baptist Church.
