Jaris "Geovani" Flores, beloved husband of Rosa Rodriguez-Flores, father of Jazmin Flores and Anthony Flores, son of Lidia Espino of Guatemala, caring brother of Mauricio of Fairfield, Ricardo (Clara) of Guatemala, Aroldo (Dilia) of Guatemala, Rina of San Rafael, Luis (Alicia) of Rodeo, and Alvaro (Nora) of Hayward, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his father, "Nando," and his sister, Maribel. He was a treasured son-in-law of Mama Chuy. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins, godchildren, compadres, in-laws, and close friends.

He was born in Ipala, Chiquimula, Guatemala. He left his war-torn country to seek a better life. He worked as a busser in several restaurants in the East Bay for over 20 years. For the last seven years of his life he thoroughly enjoyed working at the Auberge du Soleil Restaurant in the Napa Valley.

"Geo" touched many lives with his cheerful smile, happy demeanor, and exuberance for life. He was an avid soccer fan, a Raider fan, loved music, and Corona beer. He enjoyed working on cars, hanging out with his buddies, taking his family to the Sierra for wintertime sledding, and most recently enjoyed boating with his family.

He was selfless and helped his friends and family in their times of need.

Contributions to his children's education fund may be made to the Jaris Geovani Flores Memorial Account at the Mechanics Bank at the Hilltop Office, 3170 Hilltop Mall Road, Richmond, CA 94806.
