Jacob Fow was mustered into the 23rd PA on August 2nd 1861 in Philadelphia , PA. He was wounded at Fredricksburg (Marye's Heights) on May 3rd 1863. In 1864 he was transfered to the 82nd PA and was once again wounded at Petersburg on April 2nd 1865. He was honorably discharged as a vet on July 13th 1865 and returned to Philadelphia where he became a GAR Post 2 member and Veteran Guard of the Post. He died in Philadelphia and was buried on December 18th 1892 at Mt Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia.
