Prior to his national fame, he became a legend on local television in Cleveland, Ohio as the host of the schlocky late-night "Ghoulardi" movies. Sporting a fake mustache, a goatee, a fright wig and a lab coat, he openly denigrated the movies he presented. His son, Paul Thomas Anderson, became an influential & successful movie director-producer-screenwriter.
