Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Christian Church in Lake City, with the Rev. Carla Hillyer officiating. Burial is in Lake City Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.
Harry Richard Baty was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Lake City, to parents, Otto and Hazel (Black) Baty. He graduated from West View High School in Lake City with the Class of 1947 and on Aug. 15 1948, he married Rita Gorton at Glen and Anna Gorton's home in Lohrville. For over 40 years Harry worked as an auto mechanic, spending several years at Tuvell Garage and also working at Phillips 66 and DX Gas Station in Lake City.
He was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church in Lake City.
Harry is survived by his daughters, Janice (Joe) Dodson of Dayton, Iowa, and Joy (Terry) Lewis of Brownsburg, Ind.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Hinton of Rockwell City, and June Hildreth of El Cajon, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rita Baty, son, Milo Baty, brothers, Bob, Jack, and Bus Baty, sisters, Dorothy Pearson, Roma Baty and Norma Morris, and granddaughter, Melissa Dodson.
