Brazilian actor. Born Walmor de Souza Chagas, he made his first performance as an actor at age 18 in theater, with the play "Antigone". In movies he appeared, among others, in "Sao Paulo S/A" (1965), "Mestiça, a escrava indomável" (1973), "Xica da Silva" (1976) and "Patriamada" (1985). Also, Walmor appeared in soap operas, among them "As bruxas" (1970), "Corrida do ouro" (1974), "O grito" (1975), "Locomotivas" (1977), "Coraçao alado" (1980), "O amor é nosso" (1981), "Final feliz" (1982), "Eu prometo" (1983), "Vereda tropical" (1984), "Selva de pedra" (1986), "Sonho meu" (1993), "Mad Maria" (2005) or "A favorita" (2008). Walmor was also the host of some Brazilian TV programs, and was married to actress Cacilda Becker from 1957 until her death in 1969; the couple adopted one child, a daughter, Maria Clara (born 1964), who became a singer under the name Clara Becker. On January 18, 2013, he was found dead by gunshot; Walmor had committed suicide. According to his wishes, he was cremated and his ashes scattered at the Serra da Mantiqueira.
