Sister Berak graduated from the Felician Academy in Detroit in June of 1940. She then went on to attend Siena Heights College, earning both her Bachelor's degree (1953) and later her Master's degree in 1965.
Sister Berak was a teacher serving Michigan for many years. She started her teaching career at Holy Trinity School in Ironwood, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, from 1963 - 1969. She then became the Principal of St. Vincent Ferrer in Madison Heights. She held this position from 1969-1978. In 1979, she became the principal of Holy Rosary School in Flint and served here until 1992. In 1996 she was installed as the Director of Fox Manor on the Lourdes Campus in Waterford.
