She brought much joy to her family and her friends throughout her life, and she will be sorely missed.
Born in San Diego, Calif., Amanda moved to Virginia Beach at a young age with her family. She graduated from Green Run High School in 2002 and worked as a hostess at The Red Star Tavern. Amanda’s illness interrupted her college plans on several occasions, but she had recently enrolled at Tidewater Community College where she intended to study veterinarian medicine.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staffs at Portsmouth Naval Medical Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital for the loving care they gave Amanda these last three years.
