Daddy was the son of Duncan Fletcher Wilson and Stella Lee Harris Wilson, born and raised in Georgia. On November 30 1922, he married Irene Davis in Athens, Clarke County Ga. There was one child from this union, then two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

He was an auto mechanic by trade, and could also work on heavy equipment, so in late 1942 he volunteered for service in the seabees, even though he was 40 years of age, serving until some time in 1945.

After being discharged from the service he co-owned and operated an auto repair shop in Athens, Georgia, also belonged to the V.F.W. Post 2872 and at one time was post commander. In April of 1946 he married Lilla Mae Carter.

It would be hard to find a kinder more helpful man than he was, seeming never to get in a hurry and always wanting to know if there was anything more he could do. He was well thought of and respected by everyone that knew him. And I am so proud and grateful to be able to call him MY Dad.
