Diedrich A. Bohlen, the well-known architect, died late last night at his home, No. 71 Noble Street. He was sixty-four years old and has lived in this country since 1851. His birthplace was Kalenberg, Hanover. In 1852, he came to Indianapolis and has since been in the successful practice of his profession. He was the architect of Tomlinson Hall, Roberts Park Church, St. John's Cathedral, and many of the Catholic buildings. The funeral will occur from the house Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. His wife and three children survive him.

Indianapolis architect and Civil War veteran. Designed the Gothic Vault, now known as the Gothic Chapel, at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. Founded one of the oldest architectural firms in the United States. His burial plot is within a stone's throw of the Gothic Chapel.
