Mrs. Ida Counts, 78, who had been visiting a daughter, Mrs. Fern Ward of 3228 Travis, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the residence.
She had been bedridden since April 8, when a leg was amputated. Mrs. Counts had been in Fort Worth since February. She was born in Tennessee and moved to Clarksville in 1911. Two years ago, Mrs. Counts moved to Paris.
A member of the Baptist Church, Mrs. Counts was the widow of Henry Clay Counts, a Clarksville farmer who died in 1946.
Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. E. L. Tubbs and Mrs. Hayden Gist of Clarksville and Mrs. C. G. Richardson of Paris; three sons, Ira Counts of Shreveport, La., Homer Counts of Corpus Christi and Voris Counts of Angleton; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
The body will be sent to Clarksville Wednesday by Dudley M. Hughes Funeral Home for services and burial.
