Janine Marie Bastian, 51, of 3473 East Spring Creek Drive, Ladd, died unexpectedly at St. Margaret Hospital, Spring Valley at 6:07 a.m. Nov. 2, 2014.
Prayers will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in The Parish of the Nativity of Our Lord (Mautino Drive location) in Spring Valley, with the Rev. Jeffrey Stirniman officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral.
Janine was born Nov. 2, 1963, in Spring Valley to William and Janet (Bolelli) Passini. She married Thomas J. Bastian Sr., on July 6, 1991, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Spring Valley.
Janine worked at Horizon House as a payroll clerk for the past 18 years. She was a member of The Parish of the Nativity of Our Lord in Spring Valley.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas of Ladd; one son, William (Lisa) Klein of Moline; daughter, Lisa Klein (Nick) Ford of Crosby, North Dakota; stepsons Chris (Maranda) Bastian of Portello, N.M.; Thomas Bastian Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kayla, Hope, Faith, Thomas III, Penelope and Elliot; one sister, Joann (Passini) Bastian of Spring Valley; three aunts, Rose (James) Taylor of Spring Valley, Marion Kelly of La Salle and Judy Thorton of Missouri; and two uncles, David (Jeanie) Passini of Missouri and Steve Passini of Dalzell.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and her aunt, Dorothy Moore.
