Born in Ukraine, she was a victim of Human Trafficking. She was forced into prostitution and worked in nearly every Balkans country during her short life, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia. She started off with a very high price due to her good looks and age, and many of the men she serviced were very wealthy. Her price was the equivelent of $150-200 a client at the begining, at the end due to her health she was not so attractive and her price went down to around $5 dollars. She was not taken to the hospital immediately when she was in her final illness. Instead the gangsters waited two days until her blood pressure dropped, and they took her to the hospital and left her there with no documentation of any sort. She did have consciousness for a time, she was interviewed by the police in the hospital in Mostar. Due to her situation she contracted AIDS and opportunistic infections. The police in Mostar took the unusual step of releasing her picture and name so that her numerous clients could go get tested for AIDS, TB, syphillis, and hepatitis C.A short time after her death the gangsters in charge of the 'nightclub' where she worked in Mostar were arrested, and a huge scandal was set off in the entire Balkans region. Beacause so many of her clients were men of wealth, probably there was more than the usual panic. The body of this unfortunate young lady was sent to Ukraine, and no details about her prior life were available other than she was the mother of a 3 year old girl. Considering that she was only 21 at the time of her death, it is possible she was no stranger to abuse, and she was probably desperate to support her daughter.
