Alice Carey Graves Buchmeyer was born on Sept 6, 1919 in Dallas TX. She grew up in East Dallas where she was a 1937 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She and Henry, her husband of 56 years, lived in the Forest Hills neighborhood where their home was filled with love and laughter. They were both members of White Rock United Methodist church for over 50 years. Alice had many interests including art, reading, and square dancing, but her greatest joy was in being a wife to her husband and a mother to her five children. She was active as a PTA member, room mother, Campfire leader and Sunday School teacher. Survivors are five children, Sandra Currin, Phyllis Spruiell, Henry Buchmeyer III, Laren Abbe and Lee Ellen Maroney; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral Service is 11:00 a.m. Friday January 22, 2010 in Minga Chapel of White Rock United Methodist Church. Rev. Dick Atkinson, officiating. Interment Grove Hill Cemetery.
