Principal of South Pasadena San Marino HS from 1921-1940. He was murdered by Verlin H. Spencer, the principal of South Pasadena Jr. HS, along with 5 others in a murder rampage. He was the son of Edward E. and Martha A. Alman, the husband of Eleanor Alman, the father of John Jr. and Margaret(Margie) Alman and the brother of Fred H., Roy M., and William C. Alman. He was director of the local YMCA for 16 yrs., a charter member of the Kiwanis Club, and an official for the Track and Field Competitions at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.
